Quick Tip:ESXi Entering Maintenance Times Out

When attempting to have a host enter maintenance mode recently I got a time out error.

Fortunately after a little googling I found a KB here

The only thing I needed to do is restart the management services on the host.

Once I SSHed into the host it is a simple command

“services.sh restart”

After it went through all its processes then I could put the host into maintenance mode.
